Sparrows at the Critter Feeder

This morning as I was watching the birds at the critter feeder I noticed that there were more sparrows than any other species. It occurred to me that few people get excited about sparrows at their feeders. Cardinals, Orioles, Bluebirds, all the colorful pretty birds but Sparrows not so much. Sparrows sport dull brownish blackish colors and so they may not seem that exciting. But, these are the very birds Jesus mentions in Mathew 10:29 when he is explaining how God provides for us. He says, ” Are not two sparrows sold for a cent ? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.” It’s not the most colorful pretty bird that is used in this illustration. Interesting.
